Rock Hall, Maryland, though small, boasts a wide variety of activities, events and attractions worth a go upon your next visit or stay. Unlike the other articles and attraction lists we have written in the past, the one that follows is a look at our area's to-dos – strictly from a locals' perspective.
Dine off the beaten path. Ditch the crowds and tourist traps along Rock Hall Harbor for more local dining experiences at Ford's Seafood, Pasta Plus (now The Little Lemon Leaf Diner) and Rock Hall Liquors & Deli.
Wet your whistle at Maggie's. For beer, cocktails and a sip of "Maggie's Madness," venture to the hole in the wall that is Maggie Coleman's Tavern.
Team sports at the Civic Center courts. Gather a group and pursuit the play of pickleball or basketball on the lighted courts of Rock Hall's public Civic Center recreational park.
Fish from Ferry Park's hidden point. Bring rod in hand to Ferry Park, walking southward along the sands towards a hidden point at bay's broadening width. Fit for fishing and birdwatching, sights of the Bay Bridge are beautiful here when conditions are crisp and clear.
Hunt for treasure at bayfront dead ends. Search for seaglass, bottles and other relics awash from days bygone at the many dead ends around town. Allen's Lane and Eastern Neck's Bogles Wharf Road (both south of Rock Hall) are some of the best for seeking out artifacts.
Of course, these are just some of many possibilities that await you on a visit to Rock Hall. For a more all-inclusive list, click away to rockhallmd.com.

As of late a seasonal locale, Rock Hall is giving nearby Chestertown a run for their money in terms of number of open, year-round dining establishments.
