It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we write of Haven Harbour founder, Mr. William T. Brawner, and his recent passing.

A man of genuine character, his passion for the Rock Hall community was nothing short of profound, and his dedication to building one of the Chesapeake Bay’s most premier and reliable yachting centers continues on to this day.

Close to 40 years ago, Mr. Brawner fell in love with Rock Hall. He made it his mission to help mature an obscure Eastern Shore of Maryland town and make it a place to remember. His purchase of what would become Haven Harbour Marina was only the outset of these ambitions. He would go on to found the Rock Hall Waterman's Museum and lead countless other community efforts all in the name of cultural preservation.

Mr. Brawner's support for our area and its people seldom ceased at the marina he founded. Charitable giving, financial support and volunteerism were provided time and time again to local organizations under the auspices of he and his company's name – not for the credit or publicity, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

His friendship and camaraderie were extraordinary, as he over the years managed to touch the lives (and lend a few laughs) of countless local residents and visitors alike.

"It’s been an honor and a pleasure to work beside Mr. Brawner over the years," said Director of Sales Mark Bryden. "I’m looking forward to what lies ahead for the company as we continue his dream!"

"The team and I are thankful that Mr. Brawner had a high enough risk tolerance to buy Haven Harbour 36 years ago with a vision and the wherewithal to lead us to what we are today," added Managing Director Charlie Petosa. "Mr. Brawner's goal back in those early days was to create something transformational for the town of Rock Hall, our employees and the boating community. Mr. Brawner's passing will only cause us to double down on his unrelenting commitment to continuous improvement and the running of a world-class marina resort. Our clients now travel to us from far and wide, and we invite all to enjoy Haven Harbour Marina Resorts the same way Mr. Brawner enjoyed life – with an amazing amount of enthusiasm and a bit of mischief along the way! Rest in peace, Mr. Brawner."

To our founder, we thank you. Though you may be gone – and certainly missed – your legacy lives on, and your memory will forever shine brightly.
