Have you heard the news about Red Dock?
It's true; we are finally going to replace Red Dock with a state-of-the-art floating dock! After we remove the existing fixed pier and pull all the pilings, we plan to dredge the entire area to 6.5' MLW. We will then install about 70 slips, mostly 45' and 50' select slips with full-length finger piers. We'll have a few 40' and 30' slips as well. All the new finger piers will be stable 4' wide structures that will stand about 20" above the water. We also plan both tie pilings between each finger pier and midship pilings for spring lines. There will be a fair demand for these prime slips, so if you are interested in moving to a floating dock, please email, call or slimply stop by the marina office to speak with Jonathan Jones at your earliest convenience.
We plan to position the piers and dredge to allow a minimum of 1 1/2 times the length of the slip for maneuverability in front of the slip. Each slip will be serviced by a new cast aluminum lighthouse style pedestal with ball valves for freshwater and two 30 amp receptacles and two 50 amp receptacles. We'll have 3 phase current brought to the docks and 1200 amps should supply plenty of power, even for the hottest days of the year. We are finalizing the drawings for the new dock this week, so we should be able to post the new floating dock layout in the upcoming weeks.
